Occupational Therapy Services:
SIRRI offers one-on-one direct Occupational Therapy services in our multi-sensory gym. Occupational Therapy services address a variety of areas, including fine motor skills, postural stability, strength, endurance, self-care skills, play skills, social skills, emotional skills and sensory processing skills. SIRRI offers both Occupational Therapy Evaluation and Treatment services.
Occupational Therapy Treatment:
Occupational Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length and provide children with one-on-one Occupational Therapy interventions to facilitate functional skills for daily living tasks.
SIRRI offers two types of Occupational Therapy evaluations:
Occupational Therapy Evaluation:
- Ages birth and up.
- One appointment, 1-2 hours in length, in clinic assessment.
- Use of standardized and normative tests to assess motor skills, visual perceptual skills, self-care skills and sensory processing skills.
- Use of clinical observations and interview.
- Individualized goals and home program provided.
Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT):
- Ages 4 years to 8 years, 11 months.
- Two appointments, 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours in length, in clinic assessment.
- Use of the SIPT, a standardized test created by Dr. Jean Ayres, the Occupational Therapist who developed the Sensory Integration Theory regarding children, learning and behavior.
- The SIPT consists of 17 subtests that help determine how the child processes sensory information and guides Occupational Therapy intervention.
