Our occupational therapist is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) and complements SIRRI's neurological and developmental philospohy by providing a multi-sensory occupational threapy approach to improve function and increase independent skills in all areas to our pediatric clients.
The Occupational Therapy clinic includes a climbing wall, a vibrating sensory ballpool, a vibroacoustic lighted tunnel and vestibular equipment to address the many aspects of sensory integration and processing skills, including sensory awareness; visual spatial awareness; body integration; balance; fine, gross and bilateral motor coordination; visual-motor integration; praxis; muscle and joint integrity; self-care skills; and handwriting skills.
Children who may benefit from Occupational Therapy include those with neurological and/or developmental disabilities, those recovering from an injury or neurological disease, or any individual adapting to new restrictions in lifestyle (i.e. after major surgery, etc.)
The Occupational Therapy services may be utilized individually, or as part of a comprehensive program including the Sensory Learning Program and/or the various cognitive retraining programs in our Learning Center.
